@gunsnrosesgirl3 I realized that for many, religion serves as a convenient escape from independent thought. With faith, the answers seem to come effortlessly: it's simply God's will.
@RavishingRufus This is an export tariff, not an import tariff. So the Canadian exporter pays it and as a result they sell electricity at a higher price to the US.
@stressed_rob @Stativerse_ @stats_feed Japan's local inhibitant tax has a major downside - it's calculated based on your income from the previous year. The worst part is, if you're living in any municipality in Japan on January 1st, you're required to pay the full amount for the entire year.
And to top it off, some even claim that Korean budaejjigae (army stew) contains hot dogs. Korean folks must be scratching their heads since they never just call sausages hot dogs.
Isn't it strange how people refer to wieners or frankfurters as hot dogs? It's kind of confusing because they don't differentiate between the actual sausage and the whole dish with a frankfurter in a bun.
This ain't Omuraisu or Tamagoyaki. The subtitles are all in Chinese and they read "vegetable egg rolled rice." This recipe is a unique creation inspired from Omuraisu and Tamagoyaki.
Japanese folks will find it confusing that their "octopus wienners" are included in the hot dog category here. In Japan (and many other places), hot dogs strictly mean sausages served in bread.
@kuishinbon_can Only plug-in hybrids and EVs with Ontario Green plates are permitted. Regular hybrids are not allowed since they have regular license plates.
It's so annoying how some people in the west only focus on Japan's aging population and low birth rates as if those are the only issues. Japan actually has much bigger problems, like generations of people with failed education.
Some people daydream about Japan, but they really have no idea. They don't speak Japanese and are completely unaware of the social issues in Japan. They believe Japan is a harmless country filled with only cool and cute things from their childhood memories.
@stats_feed Japan was once incredibly wealthy, and its citizens were renowned for their frequent visits to popular tourist destinations like Paris and Hawaii. However, the situation has changed, and nowadays, many Japanese individuals are unable to afford such luxuries.
@stats_feed However, that very same property would now only be valued at $300,000, barely enough for a down payment in Toronto's competitive real estate market.
Imagine walking into a random bookstore and seeing all the best selling books promoting hate speech. Can you picture encountering racists from politicians to doctors, company executives to athletes, journalists to movie directors... Unfortunately, Japan is like that.
