デビアス・ロンドンは、ダイヤモンドのカットの中でも極めて珍しい「カボション」を独自にアレンジし、水滴を思わせる滑らかで丸みを帯びたダイヤモンドを開発した。
ファセットを持たないこの形状は、光が滑らかな表面から反射することで、従来のブリリアントカットとは異なる柔らかく透明感のある輝きを生み出す。
ファセットで内包物を隠すことができないため、石そのものの品質がより厳しく問われる。

同社が5年をかけて開発した技術によると、この加工に適した色・透明度・結晶構造・対称性などの条件を満たすダイヤモンドは全体の0.5%にも満たないという。
新しいカットは、ハイジュエリーコレクション「Vibrations」で発表される。

カボションはファセットを持たない伝統的な宝石カット技法で、通常はサファイアやルビー、エメラルドなど有色石に用いられることが多い。
一般的なカボションは、丸く研磨された頂部と平らな底面を持つ楕円形が典型的だが、デビアスのバージョンはファセットを持たないという基本構造を保ちつつ、意図的に水滴のような丸みを帯びたフォルムに仕上げている点が特徴である。
ダイヤモンドは非常に硬い素材であるため、カボションカットが施されることは稀で、米国宝石学会(GIA)もこれまでに天然ダイヤモンドのカボション(約6.29カラットと6.07カラットの2石を含む)を確認しているが、カラーストンに比べて極めて珍しい試みだとしている。

ファセットがないことで内部の特徴がより露わになるため、卓越した品質と純度、適切な結晶構造や対称性が不可欠になるという。
完成した石は、多数の角度をつけたファセットが生む鋭いきらめきとは対照的に、深みのある柔らかな輝きを放つとされる。

このカボションは、ボツワナのオカバンゴ・デルタに着想を得た「Undulation」に採用されており、川辺に浮かぶ水滴のような丸みを表現することを意図している。
