Tragedy struck the village of Kalempang, Indonesia, on June 6, 2024. Farida, a 50-year-old woman, vanished while in the nearby forest.

A search party formed by local men ventured into the woods in the following days. Their search led them to a massive, 20-foot python.

The snake's bulging body raised suspicion, prompting Farida's husband and several villagers to kill it and carefully cut it open.

Inside the python's belly, they made the grim discovery of Farida's remains.

In 2013, Alex Lewis thought he had the flu, and decided that a few days in bed to rest was all he needed. But as the days passed, he didn’t get any better. In fact, his condition deteriorated and his skin started to turn purple.

He was rushed to hospital where he was told that he didn’t have the flu and had actually contracted Strep A, followed by Septicaemia. He was given just a 3% chance of survival.

As the days progressed, things became so dire that the hospital wanted to turn off his life support because they deemed his survival so unlikely.

Alex was then told if he wanted to survive, doctors would have to amputate all his limbs and the bottom part of his face.

Thankfully, the surgeries were a success and Alex ended up defying the odds and surviving.

In the years that followed, Alex told the press that he doesn’t regret a thing and that year was the best year of his life.
