Port News: Cruise Vessel Asuka III Arrives at the Port of Guam
The Port Authority of Guam welcomed the Japan-flagged cruise vessel Asuka III today as part of the vessel’s regional voyage through the Pacific.
The Port Authority of Guam will open its gates on Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing an additional full day of access to support the continued movement of cargo into the community.
The Port has received official notification from the MARAD confirming the award of nearly $60 million in federal funding for the acquisition of three new ship-to-shore gantry cranes, marking a major milestone in the Port’s modernization efforts.
Perseverance is paying off for the people of Guam by way of a $60 million grant toward the cost of bringing new gantry cranes to the Port Authority of Guam (PAG).
The Port Authority of Guam will open its gates tomorrow, April 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., outside of its regular schedule, to accelerate the movement of cargo out of the terminal and into the community. Both the truckers complex gate and the breakbulk gate will be open.
From April 16 through April 23 as of 1:48 p.m., a total of 520 full container loads have been issued to the community. In addition, 202 units of new vehicles, used vehicles, and heavy equipment as well as 114 units of general cargo have been released.
