@irwinelman The child protection system fetters it's discretion to the family courts. New Hampshire has introduced a bill to abolish family courts, give safe parents mediation and unsafe parents the justice and protection systems. We need to do the same.

According to a recent #childwelfare blog by @NCCPR, “nationwide in 2024, in 78% of cases, children were thrown into foster care where there was not even an allegation of sexual abuse or any form of physical abuse. In 60% of cases, there was not even an allegation of any form of drug abuse – not just no allegation of running a meth lab or overdosing on fentanyl, no allegation of any use of any drug.”

As a clinical research scientist, I’d be interested in learning of the numbers for neglect in that same cohort the statistics were pulled from.
