One time, a white woman told me, with no context, as if it were a red badge of courage :
โI took a pic with Jesse Jackson.โ
Then she showed it to me on her phone.
But the pic was with Ludacris.
When I scrolled back, and I saw pic was in a folder named โMe w/black peopleโ
There are anti-airs in Avatar Legends. Korra has 2C/DP, Aang has 2D~C/2C, Azula has 5C, Toph has 5C, etc. These AAs are not bad; they can stop aerial approaches when timed properly. However, they force you to commit and make hard reads, which is difficult in a fast paced game 1/
@knifewoman6 This has not been my experience fighting the aforementioned characters. Korra's 2C/Toph 5C are very consistent. Korra's DP beats everything
@alejadrorr0123@Ceeington The number of times I got AAed by this in the alpha ๐ค
That's why "no good AA" convos are wild to see because this is one of the best AAs I've seen in a fighting game
@FloodedFirePark Exactly. They were forced to think. IAD j.C carried them so much, their brain broke when they couldn't use it anymore. I had that happen with some Azulas as well. J.C kept getting stuffed so they immediately started turtling. ๐
I also think there's a case for player expression here. It becomes a question how will YOU deal with your opponent's aerial options vs defaulting to a good button your character has. I'm not trying to glaze the game too much, but it's mechanics require adaptation 4/
@GambitoAlter I like it. It forces you to commit to your aerial options and watch your approach. It also forces you to think about the game's varied defensive options rather than just chicken guarding 24/7 when you're on defense
The discourse around avatar legends shows how much fighting games have changed over the years. Most 2D fighters are very flowcharts:
Neutral>get hit into KD>run unescapable oki>confirm again>kill.
Everyone hates being on the receiving end of this. 1/
So next time you criticize avatar legends, ask yourself are you just trying to avoid the work in this game? Is your criticism keeping EVERYONE from enjoying the game, or just you? Why aren't you willing to put in the effort it takes in order to be good at the game? End/
Each complaint listed above is due to most people not wanting to confront the mental stack required to play this game. If you want something easier, there are many FGs to fit that. However, you will never escape the inevitability of having to use your head in order to win. 4/
