Lots of opinions, some analysis, and an occasional fact about the world- renowned Cleveland Guardians baseball team. Not affiliated with the MLB Guardians.
@politico Ohioans don’t like Vivek because he has repeatedly insulted the people who live here, moved his own company out of the state, believes that gutting higher education will improve outcomes, and he campaigns with the vigor of ‘24 Biden. It’s Vivek that hurts Vivek.
@QuintetYuri@MikeFellman And after getting elected immediately pivoted to the politics of religious and racial grievance. But don’t take my word for it.. check out his social media. See if you can identify any trends. Examine what he amplifies, and where he is conspicuously quiet
@HotStoveintel There is not a universe in which that is accurate. I don’t think that anybody believes major league baseball is minting money the way the NFL does, but this is just a ludicrous statement.
@JesseRogersESPN Guardians might never lose again if they had to spend an additional $80-90 million next year. But the floor feels a bit high, and the ceiling feels low. 50/50 split feels right, though.
@rrpre As someone who actually lives in Cleveland, and lived in Brooklyn for a decade, I actually think that there are large parts of Cleveland that look a lot like Brooklyn. This isn’t one of them. But since you’re clearly looking to score an easy win , plug in Columbus next time.
And whatever you do, you don’t pay Harden after how he played in this series. Legend, but cooked. It’s hard to get this close and fail, but you need to cut your losses and start accumulating assets for another run.
I love the Cavs. Been a diehard fan since center days of World B. Free and John Bagley. And this current group has been fun. But their lack of heart in this series is embarrassing; you cannot run it back with this group next year. And I’m not sure you don’t go scorched Earth.
Who is a foundation piece for future squads? Mitchell? Love him, but he can’t be a third of your cap and consistently get outplayed by guys like Brunson, Barnes, Cunningham, etc. Mobley? Allen? I think you keep Mobley because there still might be another level and that’s it.
@statesdj While simultaneously increasing rejection rates for domestic students. International students were more lucrative for universities than students paying in-state tuition, and they adjusted admissions policies accordingly. Higher Ed forgot its mission and is now paying for it.
@RuiterWrongFAN Just wait until 67k ppl try to escape another Browns loss from a stadium squashed between interstates and an airport (with minimal/no public transit). Gonna make yesterday look like a dream in comparison. But keep on selling us on the merits of Jimmy Reb’s TrashDome.
