Three men broke into a home in Ormonde View, Johannesburg, during the early hours of the morning and stole solar equipment, including inverters and batteries.
The incident reportedly happened between 2am and 3am.
The suspects were captured on CCTV but fled on foot after the homeowner’s father went outside to investigate suspicious noises.

The TMPD Cable Theft Unit arrested a Mozambican national in Hercules, Pretoria, after tracking a white Toyota bakkie suspected of transporting stolen copper.
Officers found two large bags of burnt copper cables at a scrapyard, which the suspect could not explain.
He allegedly assaulted an officer during the arrest and now faces charges including possession of suspected stolen copper, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

Zwelakhe Khumalo was robbed by his passengers yesterday.
Trip was from Eastgate to Soweto. He was shot & discovered by colleagues who rushed him to hospital. Where he died.

Gauteng police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man wanted as a person of interest in a murder investigation linked to an incident in the Johannesburg CBD on 26 March 2026.
Investigators believe the individual may have information that could assist the case.

WANTED: 37-year-old Cynthia Kgwete sought by Lephalale police after allegedly defrauding a bank to obtain a Ford Ranger Double Cab using forged documents.
She allegedly posed as a client, secured finance on 2 Feb 2026, removed the tracking device and disappeared without making payments, giving false Gauteng addresses.

The family of Lassy Malatji, also known as Magic, is appealing to the public for assistance in locating him following an incident in which windows were broken at Relela Satellite yesterday.
According to the family, Malatji is currently experiencing mental health challenges. They emphasise that he is not dangerous but requires medical attention. Efforts by relatives to take him to hospital have been unsuccessful, and authorities are now being asked to assist in ensuring he receives proper care.
Community members are urged not to attack or harm him if spotted. Instead, they are requested to contact the police or notify the family immediately.

Three cousins who had just launched a staff transport business were hijacked, kidnapped and later found shot dead near Bethelsdorp.
Thandekile Buzani (38), Lithembalamahlubi Tayi (22) and Loyiso Mkhahluli (29) were attacked in KwaNobuhle in what police believe may have been a targeted killing.
Cases of carjacking, kidnapping and triple murder have been opened. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
64-year-old Karin van Aardt from Nelspruit (Mpumalanga) flew into Cape Town with her husband Herman to celebrate their only granddaughter’s 8th birthday.
They rented a car at the airport and headed toward Vredenburg. Minutes later, at a traffic light on Jakes Gerwel Drive in Bonteheuwel, a "smash-and-grab" turned deadly. A man smashed the window, lunged in, and repeatedly stabbed Karin while trying to grab her handbag. She died in front of her husband.
This wasn’t a remote farm or isolated area. This was right near Cape Town International Airport, in broad daylight, on a route thousands of visitors and locals use daily.

They Took my younger brother away from us , just for an iPhone 6 and few notes in his wallet…… they took a life of a young man who was a brilliant IT professional,A young man who just had a 3year old daughter and 1 month baby boy,a young man who just paid lobola for his wife, a young man who had a charity that helped disadvantaged families,a young men who was helping fellow young men in his community paying for their studies……..not only did they take his life, they have killed dreams of many,his kids will grow up without a father, as a family we are scared forever, the community lost an angel…….. And amongst all of that we have to be Silent and not speak up because these criminals are our brothers and sisters while they are eliminating us one by one . And our justice system has failed us.
