We've travelled up to a rainy @QUBelfast to attend this year's European Archaeological Association Annual Meeting - one of the biggest get-togethers of archaeologists anywhere?! Looking forward to a few days of stimulating papers and connecting with colleagues #EAA2023
Yesterday we welcomed our replica of the Glauberg Prince, a statue at @Keltenwelt_News in Germany. We are grateful to our friends there for giving us this fantastic object which is the result of a long-lasting collaboration between our organisations! @GERMANYinIRL@NationalMons
The "Celtic Prince", found in Glauberg (Hesse), is one of the best preserved Iron Age sandstone statues. @NationalMons and @DiscProg in Dublin contributed valuable technological know-how to its analysis and today received a copy of the statue. 🇩🇪🇮🇪 cooperation at its finest!
@fearandsequins A colleague & I at @DiscProg did some laser scanning of plaster cast moulds from the early 19th century in the National Museum of Ireland, in the hopes of comparing them to the originals. Didn’t exactly work in the way we’d hoped, but interesting results. Very happy to discuss!
The @IHTA_RIA are delighted to welcome our European colleagues for the annual International Commission for the History of Towns meeting. It will be split between Maynooth, Dublin & Derry/Londonderry over the next few days
