Ground investigation works can also help identify opportunities, for example they may highlight how some of the material could be reused or recycled to enhance the sustainability of the scheme.
Surveys, including ground investigation works, are a completely normal part of a project like a flood alleviation scheme. The material extracted will help us understand what material is there and how best we could remove it.
