A new report has emerged on how the government plans to build Nairobi's underground railway, which is expected to cost Sh1 trillion.

Here is how:

— The first phase will feature a 30km underground railway linking Eastlands to Nairobi CBD.

— The line will have 25 stations.

— The project will form part of the Nairobi Metropolitan Mass Rapid Transport System (NMRTS).

— It will be integrated with Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and commuter rail services to create a single public transport network.

— The national government is expected to contribute Sh388 billion, while the remaining funds will come from pension funds, land value capture around transport corridors, and other investment models.

— Nairobi County has already approved the first phase, and the project has also received Cabinet approval.

— The wider transport network is expected to serve nearly 5 million residents who make more than 12 million trips every day.

Not insinuating anything, but there is a high likelihood this is a police officer or someone affiliated with the security sector conducting intelligence gathering.

From the videos and photos circulating online, it is evident the state used covert methods to suppress the protests.

In areas like Githurai, we saw police officers dressed in jua kali clothing and boda boda reflectors, while others wore masks.

Interesting times to live in Kenya.
