Optimus Prime's purpose as a character is to die fighting for a peace he himself can never see and any attempts to do thing with him beyond that have never been remotely interesting enough to justify keeping him around. Rodimus Prime is the true leader that sees peace time.

Butcher being the final villain should’ve been a season long arc. Hughie putting all he learned to heartbreakingly bring his friend/mentor down.
