The penny could soon be history.

A New Mexico man was arrested after defiantly taking down Flock cameras, and recording himself doing so.

Jevon Martinez recorded the removals after the Bernalillo County sheriff moved to end the department's contracts with Flock Safety, citing privacy and data-sharing concerns.

Martinez says he's "helping" the sheriff's office by collecting the equipment and insists he isn't stealing it.

Authorities see it differently. Deputies say eight of the 10 systems were managed by neighborhood associations, and Martinez now faces larceny and interference with communications charges.
