Gun Tests Magazine is the consumer resource for the serious shooter. We compare handguns, rifles, shotguns, and shooting accessories and recommend purchases.
Jake Paul said we need to update the Constitution because of the Second Amendment.
I thought I knew where this was going.
Then he said citizens may need drones, drone EMPs, RPGs, and anti-helicopter weapons.
Not on my bingo card.
But he accidentally made the purest 2A argument there is.
Because anti-gun people love saying:
“You can’t fight a tyrannical government with an AR-15.”
Okay.
Then let us have what the government has.
That is the logical endpoint of their own argument.
If the Second Amendment exists as a check on tyranny, then “the government has better weapons” is not an argument against the Second Amendment.
It is an argument for taking it seriously.
Where I split from Jake is simple:
We do not need to rewrite the Second Amendment.
We need to read it.
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Arms.
It does not say pistols and shotguns only.
So be honest:
Did Jake Paul accidentally make the best pro-2A argument of the year?
The 5th Circuit ruled that restrictions on handgun sales across state lines (or to out of state residents, said differently) violates the 2nd Amendment.
Why? Because it literally says "shall not be infringed." It's right there in the Amendment but for some reason this took ~60 years to fix.
Regardless, I'll take the win 🇺🇸
#CivilRights #2nd #2a
A right delayed is a right denied. Minnesota cannot deny Americans the right to purchase commonly owned firearms with weeks-long waiting periods. The @CivilRights Division’s Second Amendment Section will challenge these violations of fundamental rights!
Win for gun owners and the 2A:
"We believe that public lands belong to the AMERICAN PEOPLE and to the public. And hunters, fishers, and outdoorsmen should be able to access them."
A majority of the 18-29 age group supports the Supreme Court finding that AR-15s are protected by the Second Amendment. In fact, the only age group that clearly opposes AR-15s is the 60+ group:
He burnt our bridge when he bragged in 2022 about teaming up with President Joe Biden and Senator Chris Murphy to pass S.2938 — the largest federal gun control package in over 30 years. Good riddance
We've seen more X posts from John Cornyn in the months since his reelection beatdown than we have in the past 6 years! Every one of them critical of either Ken Paxton, Bo French or MAGA. Cornyn spent $110 million trashing Paxton in their primary only to be bigly defeated. Cornyn is a wretched, bitter geriatric who would prefer a communist James Talarico win the Texas Senate seat than the man overwhelmingly selected by Texas voters to replace him. Cornyn is the poster crook for the DC Swamp.
The Militia Act should be the end of the conversation. Founding-era law requiring 18yo’s to own AR-15s. Oops. Founding Era analogues of the AR, the KR.
🚨 BREAKING: DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel just dropped a bombshell opinion — federal law banning licensed dealers from selling handguns to 18- to 20-year-olds is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
In a memo dated Sept. 17, 2026, Assistant AG @ElliotGaiser tells @AGToddBlanche that 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(b)(1) and (c)(1) can no longer be enforced against dealers who sell handguns to law-abiding adults ages 18–20.
The reasoning is devastating:
→ These are citizens old enough to be drafted, vote, serve on a jury, and be sentenced to death — but not buy a handgun from a licensed dealer.
→ Under Bruen/Heller, 18-20-year-olds are unquestionably part of "the people" the 2nd Amendment protects.
→ The Founding-era Militia Act of 1792 didn't just allow 18-year-olds to own guns — it REQUIRED them to.
→ The government couldn't find a single "well-established and representative" historical tradition of banning gun sales by age. The closest analogues (contract law for minors, post-Civil War statutes) don't even target the same problem the same way.
→ OLC explicitly says courts upholding the age ban got it wrong post-Bruen/Wolford/Hemani.
This doesn't ban age restrictions on possession or the enhanced background check period for under-21 buyers — but it guts the felony ban on dealers selling handguns to 18-20-year-olds.
An entire generation of young adults just got their 2A rights back. 🇺🇸
