Teaching accurate, well-sourced Texas history is essential because history education shapes how students understand their state, its people, and their role in civic life today. When history is taught carefully and grounded in verified evidence, it helps students develop critical thinking skills, understand where they came from, and engage more responsibly as informed Texan.

When historical content is distorted, whether through omission, exaggeration, or political framing, it risks creating misunderstandings about real events and the complexity of Texas’s past. Over time, this can erode trust in education itself and reduce students’ ability to distinguish between fact and outright lies.

A strong Texas history curriculum should be based on documented sources, and strong facts. It should not be shaped to serve short-term political narratives or foreign influences (aka sharia/islam), because doing so can undermine both educational integrity and public confidence in Texas schools.

Ultimately, teaching factual history isn’t about promoting a particular viewpoint, it’s about ensuring students are equipped with truth, context, and the tools to think critically about the great land they inherit (Texas).

@TexanLoyal Yeah this younger generation don’t know what a real Texan is. Sure there’s a few here and there, but it’s not like when I was in High School and 99.9% of us were real Texans. The .1% was due to exchange students. 😅

@DavidLowe4Texas Don’t agree @DavidLowe4Texas . I’ve had to take pain meds for a medical issue I’ve had many decades. When I discovered that marijuana/cbd would help I started using it and lowered my pain meds to a trickle. This ensures I’ll have to raise those meds. So I cannot support it.
