If Tamil Nadu had unfairly closed Sterlite Copper in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin), the same region would not have continued to attract significant industrial investments afterward.

I am tired of reading claims that Tamil Nadu politicians were part of a Chinese conspiracy to undermine India’s self sufficiency in copper.

In my view, as a large industrial player, Vedanta believed it could continue operations without fully addressing environmental concerns. Ultimately, the rule of law prevailed.

There is no need to take my word for it. If you are willing to spend the time, all the facts and court judgments are available in the public domain.

The final decision that Sterlite cannot be allowed to operate due to repeated major environmental violations was made by the courts and not by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The company appealed. The courts held that permanent closure is the only solution because the violations were that grave.

This simple fact is not known even among well informed people.

Narratives range from foreign funding to Chinese conspiracy. No one bothers to get into the details. The pain is self inflicted by the Vedanta Group.

Another golden opportunity for TN BJP. The bag and baggage which has been wrecking the party for the last 5 years. The Rot is on it’s way out. Start from the scratch. Give importance to those who have real ideological moorings. Create youth leaders across the state. Don’t depend on any air dropped superman (?). Personality , cult etc nonsense does not work for a national party in a state , be it the congress or the BJP.

Yogi has to deliver bjp for Modi in UP. Fadnavis has to deliver bjp for Modi in Maharashtra. So is the case in Karnataka or for that matter any state. Likewise Modi acts as a catalyst force for local bjp units. But the end of the day it is the organisation which supersedes individuals. 2 years to go before nation gets into poll mode . Enough time to rejuvenate and strengthen the party in TN.

To be clear, next year is BIG for him in a GOOD way - he'll do fine even without any prayers. But prayers, especially done selflessly by so many people caring for Dharma, can amplify the good and really maximize the results IMHO.

PS: One's destiny/chart allows a spectrum of results at a time. Within that spectrum, one can maximize what happens, through special effort, prayers etc.

PPS: May Annamalai ji succeed in coming years in transforming Tamil pride, politics & identity to be guided by Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi rather than Erode Venkatappa Ramasamy aka Periyar. 🕉️🙏
