@KLM how the heck do you overbook flights...
Like there's AI and tech to optimise everything, and it's not like you're a beginner still figuring things out...
Once a flight is fully booked (remember, we pay before flying), it's fully booked. So stop trying to think and bank on maybe some people missing their flights... If they miss their flight it's on them, no refunds, so you've collected all the money already...
In 2025, this is unacceptable for a supposedly leading global airline.
Do better.
My wife (@Will_Lioness) needs to be on the flight she booked... Not on an alternative flight tomorrow, because you screwed up.

The Time Equation,
Did you know the average person spends 15 to 20 hours researching a single week-long vacation? What's your hourly rate when working? Now calculate the true cost of planning your own trip. Our fees start at just $50/month so that you can reclaim those hours for what truly matters.

Being a real estate developer is hard.
It is risky, capital intensive & there are a million decisions that need to be made.
It is not a good fit for most people.
But for those who love it, they can’t imagine doing anything else.
Whenever I hear someone talking about how easy it would be to convert an office building to residential, I think of the first repositioning project I ever worked on.
500K SF of semi-vacant office into 500+ luxury rental apts. 1958 vintage building with some asbestos & a complex structure.
My Private Concierge business trips are really dialled in.
I have a format that I love to keep which is 3 days and 2 nights. Preferably leaving early on a Wednesday and back home by Friday Dinner.
My wife sometimes joins (fine, 2 out of 3 trips... 🤣).
I usually hava budget planned for these trips which is €1,500.
Here's my next trip and why:
Ljubljana, in Slovenia
Focus: Slovenian cuisine, eco-conscious boutique stays, and sustainable investment potentials.
Why Ljubljana? A compact, green capital with a burgeoning food scene and a focus on the blend of affordability, authenticity, and sustainability. Ljubljana's proximity to nature and rising popularity as a cultural gem make it a future hotspot, aligned with future travel trends, offering a niche for curated experiences (trying to keep ahead of trends, or give the trends a little boost).
Wednesday:
Travel: Fly from Montpellier to Ljubljana (via Paris ~4-5 hours total). Arrive early afternoon.
Afternoon: Check into Vander Urbani Resort, a chic boutique hotel blending modern design with Slovenian craftsmanship (handcrafted wooden furniture). I will take a stroll in the Old Town’s cobblestone streets and visit Ljubljana Castle for panoramic views of the Julian Alps.
Evening: Dinner at Strelec, a Michelin-star restaurant in the castle offering inventive Slovenian dishes like venison with local herbs, paired with Slovenia’s underrated orange wines.
Thursday:
Morning: Breakfast meetings with hospitality professionals as well as Real Estate Pros. Then a short 30-minute drive to Lake Bled, a postcard-perfect natural wonder. Visit Bled Castle and sample the famous kremšnita (cream cake) at a lakeside café.
Lunch is open for opportunistic local recommendations.
Afternoon: Return to Ljubljana and explore the Central Market, where local vendors sell artisanal cheeses, honey, and truffle products. A visit to Metelkova, an alternative cultural district showcasing Slovenian creativity.
Evening: Dinner at JB, known for its fusion of traditional Slovenian flavors with modern techniques (excited for this one).
Friday:
Morning: Breakfast meetings with hospitality professionals as well as Real Estate Pros. View a property or 2 along the Ljubljanica River and then visit the House of Experiments or Museum of Illusions (whichever I have time for), for a quirky cultural experience.
Lunch is open for opportunistic local recommendations.
Afternoon: Depart Ljubljana for Montpellier (afternoon flight via Paris ~4-5 hours).
Conclusion: Investment opportunity and interests: Slovenia’s focus on sustainable tourism and organic farming presents opportunities for partnerships with local producers and eco-lodges.
Lake Bled’s growing popularity (yet smaller crowds than Western Europe) offers potential for boutique retreats and associated investments.
Budget Breakdown:
Flights: €400–€500
Accommodation: €240–€300
Food: €170–€210 (I will definitely go over, most likely double this)
Activities: €74
Transport: €48
Souvenirs: €30 (for a happy wife, usually it's a local produce: food or wine)
Total: €962–€1,162 (plus buffer for incidentals: €1,200–€1,400).
I am well within my budget.
Time Millionaires vs. Financial Millionaires
A fascinating shift is occurring among successful professionals: measuring wealth not just in financial terms but in discretionary time - the hours you control versus those that control you.
Someone earning $250k who works 80-hour weeks and remains perpetually tethered to their devices has an hourly discretionary time value of approximately $60. Meanwhile, someone earning $90k who maintains boundaries, delegates effectively, and works more efficiently might enjoy an hourly value of $100 or more.
This new perspective explains why some of our clients aren't ultra-high-net-worth individuals but rather "time-conscious professionals" who recognize that outsourcing certain tasks isn't a luxury - it's a strategic life decision.
When you approach your personal time as your scarcest resource, the question shifts from "Can I afford a concierge?" to "Can I afford NOT to delegate tasks that consume my limited discretionary hours?"
As one client, an entrepreneur with a cleaning business in Lyon, earning $95k (when he started using our services, he has since become a HNWI), once told us: "I don't use your services because I'm rich. I use them precisely so I can do things that really matter to me - time with my family, mental bandwidth for creative projects, and space to simply enjoy my life."

When I see very large development or PE teams, I don’t think it’s a flex.
Rather, I think, “how much stupid stuff does this team need to do to make payroll?”
