@PatrickCrocker2@andrew_wang7 Yes, totally agree. I think Walker's breakout is real and sustainable and he's an All-Star in my book. My only gripe was with the original post just listing stats, b/c sometimes blah players (e.g. Javy Baez last year) can just go off for 10 weeks. Like so what?
@PatrickCrocker2@andrew_wang7 I 100% agree with all of that. I think Mookie - because of age - is no longer elite, and I wouldn't vote for him. But, like, is Mickey Moniak now a better player than Fernando Tatis Jr? His April-June stats say yes. But I'd say no. And I'd much rather see Tatis in an ASG.
@PatrickCrocker2@andrew_wang7 IMO we should be voting for the best players, period - not whoever is on the best heater. Like Javy Baez was voted a starter last season b/c he had the best stats in June. But there are literally dozens of outfielders who are better players - and all-stars - than Javy Baez.
@yadifan04@andrew_wang7 I get where you're coming from. The way you vote for the ASG is how most people vote. But there's a very large history of people who approach the voting differently and have as long as the game has existed. I can't help it that you're not aware of this.
@yadifan04@andrew_wang7 It's so wild that you think this opinion of yours is a fact. There's nothing about the way the ASG was originally formed, or in the voting instructions from the league, or in the name itself (the All-STAR game!) that supports your point.
@yadifan04@andrew_wang7 That's YOUR criteria for voting - which is totally justifiable and fine! But acting like that's the one right way to vote and anyone else is operating in bad faith is just kinda bizarre. (Btw, I'd vote for Jordan too! I just think Mookie has established a lot of all-star equity.)
@yadifan04@andrew_wang7 If you want to vote that way, fine, but for me itβs a TON about past seasons. Voting based on βbest 2.5 monthsβ is how you end up with Justin Smoak and Orlando Arcia as βall-stars.β
@atmedley@PitchingNinja Not seeing any pissing or shitting. Uribe's gesture was kinda funny, kinda lame, and also no big deal. Most Cards fans like me like the Brewers, so let's be cool ok?
@SteelTownGirl@BenVerlander Fair enough. I think baseball could use more soccer-style fan enthusiasm. And it started in college football, at Rutgers. And I don't love that it's an all-dude thing either, but the guys who've been interviewed seem very likable and non-scary.
@ChiefsSzn_26@ColeRagansSZN Cards fan here. Love Bobby Witt and of course we'd love to have him. The fans were trolling. Not my cup of tea, but it's not a big deal. Don't take the bait!
