@skraxxy@SteelCityVet95@JonathanJ51318 every one of the last 10 WS champions in the MLB were top 13 in market size with 8/10 being top10 in payroll spending.
75% of teams to make the CS since 2020 were top10 in payroll
Teams in top10 in payroll are 17-10 in playoff series against teams outside top 10 in payroll
@skraxxy@SteelCityVet95@JonathanJ51318 Since you referenced the Nhl only 2 of the last 10 Stanley Cup champions were in the top 15 in market size.
Those repeat champs: Pens missed playoffs for 3 years before 2026
lightning haven’t made it past first round in 4 years
panthers missed the playoffs entirely this yr
@AlexHarrison12@BelieveTheLand@_24kin since 2020 75% of teams to make the championship series were in the top10 in payroll.
8 of the last 10 WS champs were top10 in payroll.
teams in the top10 are 17-10 in playoff series against teams outside top10 since 2020
Guards, Rays, Brewers have won exactly 0 WS since 1950
@rationalyankee@DHerbertyinz Since 2020 75% of teams to make the championship series were in the top 10 of payroll.
Since 2021, teams in the top 10 of payroll are 17-10 in playoff series against those not in the top 10.
Dbacks (2) and Rangers (3) make up half of those series wins
@ZackScottSports Teams that are top 10 in payroll are 17-10 in playoff series against teams outside the top 10 in payroll since 2021.
5 of the 10 series wins for teams outside the top 10 are from the Dbacks and Rangers
@ZackScottSports Since 2020, 75% of teams to reach the championship series were in the top 10 of spending.
Only 2 were not in the top 20 and one was the Covid season Rays.
Teams to make the CS: had an average spend close to $192M and a median of $198M
@BloopAndABlast hahaha, players have to execute, managers have to put players in the best situation to succeed. both are true and both bring each other down which is the point. you’ll get it eventually
@BloopAndABlast 4. after pitching to JJ, not walking Herrera to set up the force out at home and get the left on left matchup.
all of those came in the 9th or 10th inning where you have to be at your cleanest and Kelly’s decision making is just not very good
@BloopAndABlast yesterday kelly made all the right bullpen moves. Sisk just didn’t execute, Bidios gave up a homer at someone’s neck. Montgomery didn’t have it
problem is Kelly messed up.
1. Ozuna over horowitz
2. Tri over Mangum (and not bunting)
3. not walking JJ in 10th to set up DP
@PiratesFaithful they’re gonna be 10 games below .500 by July 4th
You can’t have razor thin depth, a bottom 5 manager and a bottom 5 pen and expect to be competitive
@AGretz@KyleCryptoLand go look at the rays pen and how they’re used. and then tell me the manager doesn’t make a difference. you’re just failing to see the point of what a good manager can do and how it effects the pen the most
@KyleCryptoLand@AGretz Brother ur talking about him doing his job… to manage the game lol. Cherrington obviously failed as he has plenty of 7 years.
But well coached teams don’t blow 10 saves by May 15th. Pitchers need to pitch better, manager needs to do a better job picking his spots
@NorthShoreNine Pitchers need to pitch better. Manager needs to put pitchers in better situations to succeed. Both are true
Having soto face 3/4 righties to start the 9th wasn’t a good call. Then he’s 25 pitches in facing to Schwarbs and Harper
Santana facing only LHs in 10 is also an issue
@KyleCryptoLand@AGretz Hey Kyle… they don’t have a closer!!!! So when you don’t have a shutdown closer who can shorten the game. You have to piece together outs. You have to be ultra good at putting your players in the best chance to succeed and Kelly doesn’t do that
