Steve Cooper's sacking is harsh. He performed miracles at Forest. He got them up, kept them up and they're currently five points above the drop zone. He dealt with an eclectic influx of signings which occasionally resembled a haphazard trolley dash by owner and recruitment department. He built a team almost out of strangers and didn't moan about departures (Johnson) or injuries (Awoniyi).
Steve Cooper got the City Ground rocking again. He gave Forest their pride and belief back, their place in the top league back. He got this great old club dreaming again with his inspiring personality, work ethic and his emotional connection with fans.
Steve Cooper "got" Forest. And the fans loved him, most still do. The moment when Cooper walked out before kick-off was electric. Yes, recent results were poor. Yes, some jeers have been heard. But what Cooper achieved surely merited some more patience. And, yes, good luck to the capable but not very exciting Nuno. He needs to hit the ground running. Because Steve Cooper will never be forgotten for the miracles he performed. #NFFC
