However, a large number of coal mines are developed in areas previously destroyed by timber companies long before mining became popular. Not all but a large number. We must save what is left.

@JenHogben @mattjcan Not really, mass deforestation is mainly carried out for plantations to supply various commodities to the rest of the world. Indonesia is the worlds largest producer and exporter of palm oil. Mining disturbance is minimal in comparison.
