The protests at RG Kar Medical College are still ongoing against Mamata Banerjee. Today marks the 15th day of the hunger strike. Six doctors have been hospitalized, and 50 senior doctors have resigned.

The demands include speedy justice, improved security, the dismissal of those involved in covering up the case, a central protection act, better infra, end to the threat-culture, etc.

Needless to say, the CM isn't too concerned now that the issue has slipped from public memory. Her MP, Kalyan Banerjee, even mocked the hunger strike.

आज शाम क़रीब 6 बजे दिल्ली मेट्रो के JLN स्टेशन पर एक लड़का अचानक मेट्रो के अंदर गिर गया.. लोगों में कहा दौरा पड़ा है.. मैं वहाँ थोड़ी पीछे खड़ी थी.. कुछ दिख नहीं रहा था.. तो भीड़ से निकल आगे आई.. देखा एक 30-32 साल का लड़का मेट्रो के फ़्लोर पर नीचे गिरा पड़ा है.. उसको देखते ही मैंने डॉक्टर के लिए आवाज़ लगाई लेकिन कोई डॉक्टर नहीं था.. एक लड़की ने सीपीआर देने की कोशिश की.. लेकिन कुछ फ़र्क़ नहीं पड़ रहा था.. मेट्रो के emergency बटन को दबाया गया.. लेकिन प्रशासन की ओर से कोई जल्दबाज़ी नहीं दिखी.. मैंने जल्दी आओ जल्दी आओ की आवाज़ लगानी शुरू की तो वो थोड़ा भागे.. स्ट्रेचर की जगह उनके साथ एक कर्मचारी व्हीलचेयर धीरे धीरे लेकर आ रहा था.. फिर चीख कर बोली अरे जल्दी आओ.. जिसके बाद कुछ लोगों ने उसको मेट्रो से बाहर निकालकर व्हीलचेयर पर बैठाया.. उसका शरीर नीचे ओर लटक रहा था.. कंधों पर सिर गिरा हुआ था.. उसके हाथ में बंधी घड़ी में हार्ट रेट पर कुछ नहीं आ रहा था.. नब्ज़ नहीं चल रही थी.. मैंने झुंझलाते हुए वहाँ खड़े अधिकारी को बोला सर कोई मेडिकल ऐड तो दिलवाइये.. वो बोले एम्बुलेंस आ रही है।

मुझे बेचैनी होने लगी.. पापा याद आ रहे थे.. जैसे उन्हें खोया वो सब कुछ आँखों के सामने घूमने लगा.. चक्कर से आने लगे.. उल्टी लगने की स्थिति हो गई.. आँखों में आँसू भर चुके थे.. वहीं कुछ लोग वीडियो बना रहे थे.. एकदम helpless फ़ील हो रहा था…

मुझे नहीं पता उसकी जान बची या नहीं लेकिन मेट्रो प्रशासन ने बहुत निराश किया.. किसी की ज़िंदगी बचाने के लिए जो तेजी दिखानी चाहिए थी… वो नहीं दिखी… पूरे प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर मेट्रो प्रशासन का कोई कर्मचारी मौजूद नहीं था.. मौजूदा वक्त में जिस तरह से चंद मिनटों में लोग ज़िंदगी खो रहे हैं.. उसको देखते हुए मेट्रो प्रशासन से तुरंत मेडिकल मदद के लिए कुछ इंतज़ाम करने की अपील करना चाहूँगी.. 🙏🏻

Every day installation is scheduled only to be rescheduled the last minute. Multiple calls and e-mail to their customer care has not led to any resolution. Money has also not been refunded. The agents who collected the money are not taking any calls. (2/n)
