@lheal @EsotericCD No, because they firmly believed Harris would decisively lose, which is exactly what happened. I think they had a glimmer of hope that Biden would have overperformed in November. The awful debate forced them to put Harris in.

@bonchieredstate The Dems would have been better off just letting Trump win in 2020 and putting someone younger and fresher up against Pence in 2024. Biden has damaged the Democratic brand much worse than Carter ever did. It was a catastrophic mistake that they forced a Biden run in 2020.

@tmillsNC @lxeagle17 Right. And to beat it all, they were running against one of the most formidable Republican candidates since 1980 or 1984. Anyone with two brain cells knew that Trump was going to win fairly easily, especially after the attempt on his life and the Biden debate.

@lxeagle17 I think it’s fair to say that she never had a an actual lead at any time during her run. A lot of that was a false narrative built on vibes and response bias. Biden’s debate performance was so damaging to the party and demoralized the base, no one would have won after that.

@lxeagle17 Harris was doomed from the start and Biden threw her into the lion’s den by endorsing her so quickly. I believe the original plan was for Obama, Pelosi, et al to present nominees at the convention, but Biden wanted to screw them over. She had no time to run a decent campaign.

@neoavatara @varadmehta The District Judge has no authority in reality. He can put officials in contempt but Trump’s DOJ won’t imprison their own officials. And Trump will just pardon them anyway. The whole exercise by this Judge is useless. The officials will probably laugh in the Judge’s face.

@bonchieredstate The goal is to bring down interest rates. People’s main complaint with inflation actually boils down to current borrowing costs. But I think there’s also a secondary goal of more favorable trade policy.

@bonchieredstate People need to chill out about the tariffs. A lot of these tariffs will cause worldwide recessions and other counties will run to the negotiating table before they allow their economies to collapse. The trade war will probably be over by summer.
