I frequently visit the TANGEDCO headquarters, and from what I have observed, there have been significant changes there compared to the past 10 years. A separate office has now been allocated for the Minister. Officials appear to be more focused on their responsibilities rather than merely talking about their own achievements. There is also greater attention to what comes into the office and who visits it.

However, there is still a lot of work to be done. New power projects need to be initiated. As I understand it, there have been no major new projects in the past five years, while several old transformers have also been left without proper repairs. Addressing these issues is now one of the major challenges before the TVK government. But as someone who knows @CTR_Nirmalkumar, I believe he has the ability to address these problems.

The TVK government could consider adopting an approach similar to that followed during Selvi J. Jayalalithaa's tenure, like setting up a committee headed by the head of the Electricity Department to assess the state's power requirements, examine the need for new generation projects, and recommend the projects required for the future.

Alongside this, the government could also make securing additional power from the Centre's unallocated pool a specific objective, while simultaneously working on long term generation and transmission capacity. The immediate priority should be to strengthen the system, address existing infrastructure issues, and ensure that Tamilnadu has adequate power to meet its future needs.
