Class of 2028 long snapper Theo Miller made the trip to Eau Claire, WI to chase perfection.
Theo and I started working together virtually earlier this year, and this was already his second trip to train with me in person. He’s made huge strides with his body control and becoming much more deliberate in everything he does. Long snapping is a progressive position. The stronger the foundation becomes, the more you can shift your focus from major changes to refining the small details that separate good from great.
During this session our focus was flow. His movement had become a little choppy, so we worked on creating a true domino effect by letting the core lead everything through to the target. When you whip the body, the ball follows. That’s where velocity, consistency, and control all come together. You never want to force the ball. The harder most snappers try to be quick and snap hard, the more they actually get in their own way. Efficient movement will always outperform forced movement.
Theo made another big jump during this session, and it’s exciting to watch him continue stacking quality reps on top of a strong foundation.
Looking forward to continuing to help Theo chase perfection.

Class of 2028 long snapper @KirklandHudson1 made the trip from Mississippi to Eau Claire, WI to chase perfection.
This was Kirkland’s first time working with me, and one of the things that stood out immediately was how open he was to making changes. That mindset will take him a long way.
Like many young snappers, Kirkland was trying to initiate the snap by driving his elbows. While that may feel aggressive, it caused his entire body to move at once. Every efficient throwing movement follows the same principle: the body leads and the ball follows.
We spent a lot of time building better flow and sequencing. Once his body began leading the movement, everything else started falling into place. He was able to complete his leg extension before the ball was released, allowing him to transfer energy more efficiently while staying balanced and in control throughout the snap.
In the before video, you can see his legs extending with the throw while his feet slide through the finish. In the after video, his legs finish first, the ball is whipped to the target, and he’s able to stay much more stable and controlled.
Small changes in sequence create big changes in performance.
I’m looking forward to continuing to help Kirkland chase perfection.
