@liz_churchill10 Any document can be just "submitted to the united states congress" by anyone, that's a not a claim to legitimacy. These are just home made slides by a random, dishonourably discharged and criminally charged ex army dude. But I guess that's just makes the case stronger to you? 😂
I think folks are sleeping on one of the biggest and most obvious "zero interest rate phenomena" that's going to get vaporized slowly and then all at once: Andreessen Horowitz
Here's my thesis:
@CollinRugg The ”the other side is evil and will destroy the world” polarization mind virus is significantly worse. And it seems not even @elonmusk is immune to that virus.
@rendr_eth Or… of course… to regulate it.
Monopolies/oligopolies are simply a naturally occurring feature of markets. That’s why governments can play a useful role.
@rendr_eth That’s a natural characteristic of a free market. In any game where the gains from previous games can be used to tilt the odds in your favor, you will see runaway leaders. Inequality is a fundamental property of web3 markets. The only way to overcome this is to build new markets.

@indy_johar Ageed. Yet control of our work life is a core part in both constructing your sense of self authoring and exercising it. Starting your own business (becoming a consultant) is just often put forth as the ultimate way to take control of your work life.
@indy_johar I guess I’m biased from living in the “self authoring bubble” of Stockholm. I just see tons of people taking on ambitions that are beyond their capability, and then feeling like shit for not being a successful yoga teacher / social entrepreneur / personal coach.
@indy_johar A concrete example: 1/3 of Swedish students believe they will start a business within 5 years. I don’t believe all of them can, or should. It’s just an ideal they’ve picked up from the current media story telling.
@indy_johar Of course. But pressure to be more self authoring may also cause a downward spiral of low-self esteem and stress. Kind of how oppressive norms around body image can cause people to gain weight.
The modern world screams at you to be self authoring. Not everyone can.
@indy_johar The pressure to be self authoring can be dangerously close to American Dream-style pull-yourself-up m-by-the-bootstrap individualism. The fact is that not everyone will be self authoring, and we need to give credit, love and space for them too.
@indy_johar Yes, we have a throttled capacity for self authoring lives. Yet, at the same time, we have a social pressure on especially millennials to be “self authoring”, when they might not have the psychological or structural resources to be that.
