From next Monday I will run a 3-week online course on multi-species size-spectrum modelling of fished ecosystems using the R package mizer. We will build and explore a model for the Celtic sea from scratch and you could build a model for your own region: https://t.co/cUZiVY47J6

It is amazing how easy it has become to share code. With the help of https://t.co/IOIU6SkdeI others can work with your code in their browser without having to install anything. https://t.co/l3npEwiDVf
@CliveJFox I fully agree. I just had a narrow definition of "tool" in mind, taking it to mean software tool. That's the only reason why I said that the project is much wider than "tools" for EBM.
@CliveJFox The tool we are going to use is the mizer multispecies dynamic size-spectrum model (https://t.co/j9rJ0U1eQR). But the project is much wider than tools for EBM. It will also try to change consumer behaviour in order to allow us to move towards ecosystem-friendly balanced fishing.
mizer (https://t.co/j9rJ0U1eQR) now has its own twitter account, posting updates and tips for using the mizer package. Given that new functionality is added all the time, this should be a useful account to follow if you are using mizer.
One useful function that was added in version 2.2.0 is `animateSpectra()` that produces an animation of how the size spectra change with time in a simulation. You can see an example at

We are being funded! Many thanks to @SMMR_UK and to our project partners. We at @UoY_Maths will develop the mathematical modelling to support the project's aim of sustainable #fisheries. We'll be hiring -- more next week.

My last tweet was over 12 years ago! I will now start tweeting more often about #sizespectrum dynamic size-based multi-species modelling of fish communities, in particular about new developments in the #mizer model (https://t.co/fBNGQYmCed)
