I feel like this is the biggest thing that I rarely see competitive players talking about. We'll spend 2 hours debating the 15th sideboard slot the day before but don't take steps to improve our sleep.
This card will almost certainly go directly into Phoenix. Minimum 2, maybe more.
People always look at flashy new threats and ask if Phoenix wants to play them. It doesn't. It wants good spells.

There's been hot debate online and between some of my pauper friends on discord about Fiery Cannonade. I just finished a lengthy explanation of why I think the card is fine, even for aggro.

AFTER Eldraine, just within the last year, there have been 14 bans to Standard.
Eldraine itself accounts for 6 out of those 14 bans.
6 out of the last 7 standard-legal sets have had a card banned in Standard.
I don't even know what to say about this.
This last year of Magic has been insane.
I knew it was a little crazy, but I just checked on some numbers, and this is where we are:
One year ago, Throne of Eldraine came out. If you count up all of the bans to Standard before that, there were 21 over a period of 25 years.
The upcoming Walking Dead Secret Lair is widely being considered as a mistake and a deeply problematic product for Magic the Gathering. I break down why it’s problematic in this week’s article and look to see if any good can come of it. #MTG#MTGSecretLair https://t.co/FnG4LqFxjs
So, as an example, a land that enters tapped and can tap to produce green Mana. When it enters the battlefield, it creates 1 red Mana.
There would need to be 2 for every color pair, meaning 20 total.
@TheMaverickGal @nerdtothecore
I don't like most suggestions I see for better aggro dual lands in pauper, but I just came up with this:
A cycle of 20 lands that come into play tapped, create 1 specific Mana on ETB, but only tap to produce a 2nd specific type of Mana.
@ghirapurigears I've also found these 3 to be decent pauper commanders. I had lists for 2 of them, but took them apart. Mistmeadow is probably the strongest of the 3, there are some really strong ETB creatures in pauper.
@ghirapurigears Crackling Drake is legitimately scary, I feel a little mean playing it in pauper commander sometimes. I even once won with it in a pod of regular commander decks.
My friends and I had no ban list when playing, which in pauper commander seemed fine to us.
@patg0v I am doing both of those things, but not on mtgo. I don't really enjoy playing magic online. Not playing in paper has put me in a bit of a funk, and I haven't worked on videos, but I intend to return to it sometime soon.
