98 people have been confirmed dead after catastrophic flash floods crashed through the China-Nepal border.

- Flood may have been caused by a massive chunk of ice snapping off a glacier.

- "A chunk of ice with a width of about 2,000 feet snapped cleanly off the glacier... the chunk of ice fell from an altitude of around 17,000 feet, dropping almost 4,000 feet," the New York Times reported.

🚨#BREAKING: A portion of a crane has collapsed onto vehicles causing injuries and fatalities

Currently Numerous emergency crews are currently on the scene in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after portion crane collapsed onto a bridge, landing on top of cars. Officers report at least one confirmed fatality, with others injured. Another vehicle was damaged, though it's unclear if the crane also struck that car. Witnesses heard two loud crashes: one as a piece of the crane hit the ground, and another as it struck the bridge. Vibrations from the noise were palpable. It is believed that a portion of the crane was attached to a ledge of a building under construction. This story is still developing.

JUST IN: One dead and 2 injured after a crane fell on the bridge over the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The bridge also sustained significant damage as the crane appeared to leave a sizable hole.

The two vehicle drivers reportedly survived the accident however someone under the bridge was killed.

"The big crane was falling down, and it looked like when it hit the bridge, it broke in part," a witness told 7News.

"There is a portion of the crane near the construction site and the other one that hit the bridge bounced off the Tesla and then bounced up and hit the van."

🌋THE HUNGA TONGA-HUNGA VOLCANIC ERUPTION OF JANUARY 2022 EXPLAINS SHORT TERM GLOBAL WARMING:
The huge amount of water vapor hurled into the atmosphere, as detected by NASA’s Microwave Limb Sounder, could end up temporarily warming Earth’s surface.
"When the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano erupted on Jan. 15, it sent a tsunami racing around the world and set off a sonic boom that circled the globe twice. The underwater eruption in the South Pacific Ocean also blasted an enormous plume of water vapor into Earth’s stratosphere – enough to fill more than 58,000 Olympic-size swimming pools. The sheer amount of water vapor could be enough to temporarily affect Earth’s global average temperature.
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” said Luis Millán, an atmospheric scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. He led a new study examining the amount of water vapor that the Tonga volcano injected into the stratosphere, the layer of the atmosphere between about 8 and 33 miles (12 and 53 kilometers) above Earth’s surface.
In the study, published in Geophysical Research Letters, Millán and his colleagues estimate that the Tonga eruption sent around 146 teragrams (1 teragram equals a trillion grams) of water vapor into Earth’s stratosphere – equal to 10% of the water already present in that atmospheric layer. That’s nearly four times the amount of water vapor that scientists estimate the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines lofted into the stratosphere.
