Getting off oil is a global national security goal. Saudi Arabia attacking #Yemen. Russia invading #Ukraine. Oil oligarchs are learning oil means no one will stop them. Getting off oil energy would cripple the war mongers.

Just a simple point:

Russia only sells oil. If the West were energy independent by building solar and wind farms and using electric cars (requiring a better grid and charging stations) we could stop buying Russian oil. No one wants real energy independence.
