🚨It has been exactly a year since my friend Chris & I were put in Belgian jail, simply for stating a belief:

Children cannot consent to puberty blockers.

The EU is meant to protect free speech - and what more important to discuss than child safety? - but we’ve *never* had a shred of justice following our unlawful arrest.

The aftermath was truly turbulent. Some rallied around us, some distanced. Amongst the chaos, we found ourselves on a flight to D.C. to meet with White House advisors, who were deeply concerned about what had happened. ✈️

In a world where our rights had been denied by Europeans, American support meant a lot, and I’m forever grateful for that. 🇺🇸

But I’m still worried how easily our close European neighbours could silence an important conversation without blinking.

That you can be arrested just 2km from the EU headquarters for speaking about child safety.

That the Belgian authorities don’t even care about basic fundamental rights.

We haven’t won the battle for child safety yet in Europe - not even close. 🇪🇺
