I would love to see waste slashed. The problem is that there isn't a lot of discretionary spending that can easily be slashed. Nor is there any agreement on what is waste.

And in this country, few people are willing to accept less than what they are already getting

Look at the response to proposals to extend the age for social security.

Argentina has a 42 PCT poverty rate, monthly income is like $700 and annual inflation was 290 PCT. They were in a whole different world of problems

It's really fun to be libertarian and play Rand Paul and hypothesize, just like it was fun for me and others to hypothesize about MMT when rates were low. It was an experiment that didn't work out.

And we had QE, which effectively is UBI for rich people.

All of these are worthy discussions, but right now it is all partisan yelling, which accomplishes nothing
