It’s exciting to see the developments in emerging pain treatments, especially for #ChronicPelvicPain. One budding area is medical #marijuana. In this video, @rblaprairie discusses the potential of #cannabis & the barriers we're facing in #Canada.

@becky_willmott Yes and as an excisionist, I do not endorse ablation. There aren't good head to head studies comparing the two to expose differences but the science behind the potential outcomes of either approach is supportive of resecting the lesions with a margin of normal tissue.
@becky_willmott Anyone that you feel you have a mutually trusting professional relationship with that will take pictures and provide you with a printout or the files. I can only comment on the surgeons that I've operated with which are mostly at SHC and some at RGH.
@becky_willmott It makes it easier to plan a debulking procedure. I dont perform purely diagnostic surgeries...no long term benefits. Management of any chronic inflammatory condition is initiating remission & maintaining it. The role of surgery is mainly restoring normal anatomic relationships.
Progesterone therapy inhibits menstruation and causes atrophy of #endometriosis lesions and works well for some - but not for all. So don’t tell those patients, for whom it doesn’t work, to “go away and assure them all will be well - it won’t” said @AProfAY at #AGESWESFM19
@inquisitiveGyn@IntClinSkills@LiangRhea Learn to regulate emotions (when needed)? Def can be done in simulation. I would even say SHOULD include sim in early learning so that can focus on recognizing emotions and practicing skills without taking away from patient care...then apply/transfer to clinical setting

@becky_willmott Thanks for your confidence 😊 I look forward to meeting you. I'm sorry I that the wait is so terribly long but sadly there are so many people waiting in line.
WHO recognises chronic pain as a disease in its own right. Just because tests are normal does not mean a person does not have the *disease* of chronic pain.
We need more services to help treat chronic pain - not just focussing on looking for another disease.
