@SustanciaC77@GoreTiger64th@Prototype27F Just because it’s silly doesn’t mean they’re not gathering experience. That’s kinda just how adapting to new things go’s especially in the middle of a war. All the stupid shit you see people do to counter drones is just innovation in real time.
@lastmonsterkid@TheAlexSylvian Sheer patriotism along with the fact our factories didn’t get bombed to shit like in Europe so we could afford to multiply production.
@ArthurLillard1@oengusthenerd@53gaDr3amca5t That’s so stupid man, just grown adults play fighting to scar themselves. If they wanted to brag then they could just enlist in the military and get scars that way. These saber bouts just scream frat boy.
@Fl0FromTheO@Dante45p It’s because Imperium fans have been so conditioned by the running trope of human exceptionalism that they immediately reject anything else. It’s tribalism in its most extreme form mixed with internet trolls and chuds.
@Eldritchaphilia@Hogbeast89 Since that fucking dork won’t answer you, I will. A gender war is an online term where extremely bitter men and women argue on the internet because of their superiority complex towards the other gender.
@ChikenBorgers@ShitpostRock2 I’d imagine it’s a lot harder to inspire rebels into unification when most of the empire would theoretically have such tight security with more ISD’s and Palestine would potentially survive longer. And that would subsequently buy the empire more time to manufacture more ships.
@ChikenBorgers@ShitpostRock2 I understand but you’re operating on the assumption that the empire would fall no matter what in that timeframe. Ironically enough it was both death stars that accelerated that ending since they scared the rebels into action and palps kicked the bucket on the second one.
@wimachtendink@ShitpostRock2 All fair points but I’d also like for you to consider that his own hyper competence and success made him complacent enough to indulge in vanity projects like the DS instead of practical military solutions.
@ChikenBorgers@ShitpostRock2 Fair enough but the expectation was to gradually increase the navy over time. Both projects would span decades so it’s not like they wouldn’t plan around this. And from a military standpoint it’s better to have a few extra ISD’s immediately that would expand into each system.
@millsbattery@ShitpostRock2 I am absolutely shocked that the evil space wizard, whose entire philosophy is terror and treachery, isn’t a competent ruler.
@ChikenBorgers@ShitpostRock2 Unironically yeah, if the upper brass of the Empire are stupid enough to build the planet genocider 6000 then I’d imagine they wouldn’t care too much about the cost or inefficiency of finding the rebels over the guarantee of combing through each planet with their expanded navy.
@sapapple1@Qwentr@ShitpostRock2 The evil space wizard wanted to be an evil space wizard instead of a high functioning galactic emperor is what it is. He was intelligent enough to manipulate the GAR and the CIS for years. He for sure saw the value in an expanded navy but he just preferred the terror of the DS.
@wimachtendink@ShitpostRock2 You give palps too much credit. The truth of the matter is that the evil space wizard became emperor to do evil space wizard things, not emperor things.
@ChikenBorgers@ShitpostRock2 The literal galaxy spanning empire solves all of those issues. And there’d be so many star destroyers that the sheer number of guns would make the possibility of a fur ball completely moot on account of them just overwhelming rebel shields from the get go.
@FrickFacebird@TheMistakery@Yeenie_Mcbeenie This comment makes no sense what are you talking about. Vets are some of the last people to profit from war and I made it abundantly clear I was talking about politicians and anyone who stands to gain something from war at the expense of the average soldier.
@FrickFacebird@TheMistakery@Yeenie_Mcbeenie Because the young have a tendency to ignore the worst parts of war until it’s too late. Humanity was never meant to be in conflict with each other. War is objectively a lose lose situation for everyone except the few who stand to profit off of the conflict.
@GearheadGorilla@Yeenie_Mcbeenie Now it means you’re too lazy to see past the surface idea of why it’s bad and how it interconnects to the systemic rot of corrupt governments and the cultural glorification of sending societies young to their deaths for the enrichment of elder and worse men.
@LeDilapidus@MatologMeatball They can consume it however they want but doing so immediately invalidates their opinions online if they did not experience every part of said art, good and bad.
