For the 'pay people a fair wage' bros
Any of them ever run a business?
If not, why not?
Show us all how you'd do it and pay unskilled employees a 'living wage'
Otherwise
Shut up it's none of your business what a business pays
No one forces them to work there🤷♂️
Pretending that fast food jobs are for “Teens that need weekend work” is about the dumbest narrative ever created.
Who do you think is working while school is in session 9 months out of the year?
It’s a job, just like any other job. Pay the workers a living wage.
Well we almost had a toilet today🤣
Took me a bit to get things situated but I got the floor in
Went to put flange in, didn't fit, too tall
Trimmed it as far as possible
Looks to be about a 3/8ths to 1/2 too tall still
Going to try shimming it tomorrow, see if it looks okay
Update from the fair wage trenches
So far the answers are
-random insults/economic illiteracy
-people assuring me they pay fair wages with no details
-1 guy who said he pays 250 a day for hard manual labor
-lots of excuses
Safe to say we have a long ways to go🤣

yes...and? saying it wont work for walmart and that they wont do it because they value shareholders more than the employees and theyd tank their stock doing it is 100% consistent.
Costco is a different animal altogether and they demonstrate what could be, but definitely not for everyone.
@TennesseeDG@jsin215 denmark is the size of a smallish state and has 4 million people less than my state alonne, homogenous population and strict immigration. thats how you figure it out
Apples and oranges, Costco and Walmart have different business models completely, different demographic audience etc.
Plus the people running both have wildly different ideas. Costco folks are much more concerned with employees. Walmart wants to.sell the cheapest junk possible.
I am not saying it cant be done, im saying it wont, especially not by walmart of all people.
unfortunately that wont work, shareholders will always vome first. Our economy is completely structured on these things and the changes would have loads of unintended consequences most people would not like. To swap that paradigm we'd have to go thru quite a bit of ups and downs and your average person doesnt have the stomach for it. near everything is propped up by someome or something else these days
@Arcs_Arts@PlaybookCollect i mean, a "liveable wage" where I am vs. los angeles is markedly different so, yeah I think itd be difficult to federally mandate 1 standard liveable wage, people never clarify what they mean by it sp yeah its 100% made up buzzword.
