News just in indicates that Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu (Chairman), the NUP head of mobilisation has been abducted by gun-wielding men in plain clothes, who drove him off in a drone.
We had just finished a meeting at our party headquarters and he drove off. He was waylaid and pulled out of his car around Kubiri.

Our legal team is doing everything possible to trace where he could have been taken.
The regime is clearly in panic, especially as we step up efforts to demand for the release of all political prisoners.

Our attention has been drawn to videos where Museveni's agent full figure paraded some of the freed NUP Political Prisoners. In that video, they claimed that upon release, they reached NUP offices and were chased away.

This is false! As soon as we learnt that they had been freed, we asked them to proceed to NUP offices where they were received warmly by the Secretary General. We paid for their transportation and offered them refreshments. Each of them was given transport up to their respective homes which they signed for. Since they came at night, we promised to have a follow up meeting with them, and see how to support them post-prison after they have reunited with their families.

It is very disappointing but not surprising that the regime has succeeded in conscripting many of them into these shameless lies. Good enough, we have repeatedly sounded a warning to them about how those who engage themselves in such things end. History is replete with many examples.

We sympathize with them - for they are being used by the same criminal regime that has imprisoned them without trial for four years, and subjected them to so much suffering. Of course they're doing all this in the hope that they will catch Museveni's eye and he gives them heaven and earth in the form of money, houses and jobs!

As usual, we never abandon our comrades, but we cannot compete with the regime. It has billions at its disposal to buy off willing political opponents. Within our means, and supported by other comrades, we shall work with and support we those who are willing to continue this journey with us. For those who wish to join the regime and work for it moving forward, we wish them luck.

On propaganda that his passport was withheld by court and ‘negotiations’ were held to free comrades like Nubian, the President @HEBobiwine clarifies that neither his passport was held as alleged nor did NUP indulge in negotiations. He insists and maintains that human rights are non negotiable.
