@tykjen In Homer's version, Odysseus calls himself Nobody as a way to trick the Cyclops. Then after escaping he brags and reveals his real name, where the Cyclops then asks his father Poseidon to curse Odysseus and his crew. He was always a jackass.
@TouchlineRc Odysseus allowed it because it would be beneficial to Sinon's family, and Sinon proved he had more honor/nobility/courage than Antinous, which are pretty desirable traits in a soldier.
@TouchlineRc Sinon and his dad were shepards, while Antinous and his dad were petty nobles. By taking Antinous' place, Antinous' dad was supposed to pay Sinon's dad money to help them live. 1/2
@_mercychic Because it wasn't travelling in the air, it was travelling in your spit, and a piece of cloth stops that from flying through the air when you speak, cough or even just exhale through your mouth.
@gunzoomer@ReviewsPossum The ratio of production over upkeep is massive with nuclear power compared to solar. Sometimes the best thing for you costs a bit more.
@JohnBowers123@greendragonhq I think you missed the point. The people in the greyed out states aren't all on welfare, it's the states themselves that are running on welfare. As in all of them can't make enough tax revenue to balance their own books, so the wealthier states that are coloured in fund them.
@terminallance03@ToriatheistTori No, he made a scenario where if he saw a black pilot, he assumed that they only got the job based on DEI, and that a white pilot who he assumes has better qualifications was passed over.
@jeifienichols@nickybruh23 That's fine, but if Alberta separates they shouldn't be allowed to remain in Alberta and retain their citizenship. Canada should provide a way to help those who want out in that scenario to move elsewhere at no or minimal cost, but it should be a short 5 years window, then lost.
@Metatro79454037@berdyn That land is pure rock covered by a veneer of lichen and grass. It's a pain to live on or set up any kind of dug infrastructure like water/sewage pipes, and completely unfarmable.
@UziCryptoo And that's the mistake everyone who criticizes "tax the rich" makes. The real rich don't take income, or if they do it's very minimal. They get rich from holding wealth like land, stock and other kinds of ownership. That's what needs to be taxed.
@Rob_Libby@karlykingsley This and wild boars if you're a farmer. Those things will take a shot from a hunting rifle and still charge and gore you right through.
@richmeind75@AlbertaLeonidas The Lower Canada part of Quebec isn't, for the most part, treaty land. Everything north of the St. Lawrence largely is. And it was going to cause problems then just as it is now.
