Being neutral in a humanitarian crisis is whiteness operating at its best. When the norm is threatened, whiteness shines bright. Shame on those who are using their privilege to remain silent and neutral.
What sad times we live in. People feel that the only option they have is to remain neutral because of the consequences for their job or career, even though that position is so far removed from what they really feel.
Please check in with your colleagues, friends, neighbours, and family. Reaching out might be the only thing that makes them able to get through their day during so much world conflict.
