We ended the VICTORIA virtual conference with a demonstration of the training module for end users designed by @UPV. Thank you very much to speakers and attendees! We will make the presentations available soon. #VideoAnalysis#LawEnforcement#SecurityResearch#ResearchImpactEU
⚖Today, @CiTiP_KULeuven gave an overview of how VICTORIA addressed legal & ethical issues related to #DataProtection, non discrimination and power asymmetries in the development of the #VideoAnalysis Platform: a data protection by design approach & a dedicated toolkit for #LEAs.
The VICTORIA virtual conference continues this morning with a demonstration by @unikonstanz and @FraunhoferIOSB of the #VideoAnalysis Platform reconstruction of:
▶ places of interest from public data sets
▶ crime scene (3D+time) using footage from surveillance cameras
The VICTORIA legacy: The #VideoAnalysis for Investigation (VAFI) community, business plans to prepare exploitation and initiatives for standardisation. Thank you to the team at @thalessecurity for a great conclusion to the second day of the conference!
Partners from the Romanian Protection and Guard Service (SPP) and @Manzalab presented the two solutions explored by VICTORIA to overcome the challenge posed by lack of relevant representative video data for the testing of algorithms: video footage generation and synthetic video.
We ended the 1st day of the conference with a live demo of the #VideoAnalysis Platform's main functionalities (identification of objects, persons, vehicles and audio; classification and re identification) & feedback from #LawEnforcement agencies that participated in field trials.
📼Addressing LEA #VideoAnalysis needs: preserving evidentiary value of content & compliance with data retention policy across member states are key requirements identified by @Europol for video analysis tools.
Opening by Andrea De Candido (@EUHomeAffairs) highlights attributes of successful #SecurityResearch: ✔linked to policy objectives ✔works closely with end users
✔is aware of and builds on the results of other research ✔involves industry ✔considers societal implications
📽And we're on! The VICTORIA final conference has started with an overview of the #VideoAnalysis platform:
▶ user, technical, legal/ethical requirements
▶ high-level concept
▶ advanced analytical modules
▶ 4D crime scene reconstruction
▶ end user training
▶ field trials
FINAL CONFERENCE: On 18/11, we will cover the regulatory and ethical dimension of #VideoAnalysis technologies. How to guarantee the right to #privacy, #DataProtection, equality and non-discrimination? What training for LEAs? Registration: https://t.co/zrGZDzFNHz @CiTiP_KULeuven
Final Conference: On 17/11 we will present VICTORIA's community building, #standardisation and exploitation activities. We will also host representatives of related #SecurityResearch projects: @H2020Magneto, @ILEAnet_project, ASGARD, SPIA-VA. Registration: https://t.co/zrGZDzFNHz
