We should be reframing this conversation & acknowledge that if land was “ceded” through genocidal violence then it challenges its legality. I’d like to add that there are countless more territories that were forcibly taken from Indigenous Peoples and NEVER CEDED through treaties.
The greed facilitated through settler-colonialism that led to our climate crisis cannot be truly solved by honoring treaties that forced Indigenous Peoples to cede their land through “genocidal violence.” #LandBack#RightsOfNature

Writing about abolitionism and food right now. Slowly and deliberately and in community. So grateful to all the radical food and abolition activists and scholars who have laid a strong foundation.
Grant the extensions. Prioritize the mental health and well-being of your students over the deadline. Listen to their stories. Validate them. Remind them there’s no shame in asking for help. Tell them they matter and they belong over and over. Ask them how you can support them.
