🚨We need a field tech! One got into grad school (yay!) so leaving the project early (sad). Help us eval the efficacy of range riding to reduce carnivore conflicts. Work with ranchers, riders, academics, NGOs, & more in gorgeous places in the western US. DM/email for details.
World Water at UC Davis invites applicants for an NSF-funded Advanced Studies Institute (ASI) in “International Approaches to Groundwater and Drought Management” in Spain and Netherlands in July. Details linked. Apply by April 15. https://t.co/DHCeF88bKj
@TrevorABranch I tried doing this in my last manuscript (water management journal) and the AE thought citing the packages was far too detailed and wants it removed. I’m bummed I’ll have to move those citations to the supporting docs.
We invite graduate students to apply for an international river sciences field course in Colombia, Rivers of the Andes Field Training (RAFT). Course dates: May 27 - June 5. Please apply here: https://t.co/mVN0hECkSt, by February 28 for full consideration.
@Scholar_Melinda Harney and Sons is a great online place to try samplers, especially if you’re into loose leaf. I really enjoy their white vanilla grapefrut, capri, and black cask bourbon.
Lecturers should have formal education training. Being good at your field as a researcher doesn't make you good at teaching it.
Why do we pay thousands for courses taught by people without edu qualifications when we expect school and pre-school teachers to have edu quals?
So... AGU publication units. Do you need to be at or below the limit to submit? Or can you let the review process highlight where information can be trimmed?
Hi friends! The @HenrysFork Fdn (org I work for) has an opportunity to win $30,000 for our Precision Water Management program. Please consider voting for us here: https://t.co/KeSIdMgdYm
With 3 former @HenrysFork Fdn interns as co-authors, we used irrigator interviews, satellite imagery, and statistical analysis of 40 years of streamflow data to tell a more holistic story of irrigation conversion in the Henry's Fork. Short blog: https://t.co/kHpyCyzlBY
Paper published!🥳In it, we demonstrate how adopting center-pivot sprinkler irrigation over the last 40 years reduced diversion of streamflow for irrigation from the Henry’s Fork—but also reduced flow of groundwater back into the river. Full article: https://t.co/C3hit4dxrB
@JaishriJuice I assume it has to do with trying to avoid shadow ban filters. If this platform can detect ads/discussion of a competing platform, the algorithm may hide the tweet altogether or greatly diminish its reach (shadow banning).
