Cheers to that!
In the last several years, #H2Ohio and @OhioEPA have invested more than $9 million for 100 public water systems for lead service line identification and replacement.
More than $2 million of that has gone specifically to daycares across the state!
"When I look out across the land, I can see that H2Ohio has made my land better."
Through the statewide expansion, farmers across Ohio are participating in H2Ohio and seeing the results. H2Ohio continues to focus on improving water quality for generations to come.
H2Ohio celebrated the completion of a wetland project at Mallard Club Wildlife Area east of Oregon, Ohio. The project enhances 43 acres of coastal marsh that will help filter nutrients and sediment from water before it flows into Lake Erie.
The 2026 OACI Assessment Report for the Western Lake Erie Basin is available now. It highlights how H2Ohio and Ohio’s farmers are reducing nutrient runoff and protecting Lake Erie against harmful algal blooms.

H2Ohio had the coolest Earth Day Celebration at @COSI today! 💧🌎🌲
Participants learned about water quality, conservation, and the importance of clean water in our communities. Thank you to all the partners who helped us make a splash and celebrate Earth Day!
Little is more important than having access to reliable, clean drinking water. That's why we developed @H2Ohio, our state's long-term comprehensive plan to address Ohio's most pressing water quality issues. Since launching in 2019, H2Ohio has brought drinking water to communities without a dependable water source and helped remove dangerous lead pipes feeding into local daycares. By creating wetlands and developing partnerships with thousands of farmers, we've also reduced the nutrient runoff that fuels algal blooms in our lakes and rivers. With H2Ohio, we've created great momentum to make lasting change to Ohio's waterways. Learn more at https://t.co/vhM3XkhqT3.
Soil and Water Conservation Districts across the 64 statewide counties can now apply for up to $250K to support pasture and hayland water‑quality projects. Matching funds encouraged but not required!
Applications due May 1.

Improving Ohio’s water quality starts in our fields.🌾
