🪳🇸🇦| Israel’s Channel 14: Saudi Arabia Staged a Drone Attack on Makkah to Drag the Islamic World into Its War

Israel’s Channel 14 has made a stunning claim: Saudi Arabia itself launched a drone toward Makkah not to attack the holy city, but to stage a fake attack, shoot it down, and use the incident to rally the Islamic world behind its failing war against Yemen.

The claim, attributed to Israeli journalist and analyst Edy Cohen citing a Western intelligence source, alleges that the Saudi regime:

◾Launched a Chinese-made drone into the skies over Makkah
◾ Deliberately shot it down to make it appear as a Yemeni attack on Islam’s holiest site
◾Used the staged incident to provoke condemnation from Islamic countries and give a religious dimension to its war against Ansar Allah

According to the same report, Riyadh’s goal was to drag Islamic countries especially Pakistan and Turkiye into the war against Yemen, particularly after Ankara and Islamabad violated the Makkah Pact and left Riyadh alone.

The report further notes that following Saudi claim, several Arab countries aligned with Riyadh including Bahrain, the Lebanese government, and Egypt issued coordinated condemnations of the “drone attack on Makkah.”

The Context: A Failing War and a Desperate Regime

This staging comes as Saudi-backed forces have suffered consecutive defeats in Yemen, losing vast areas in the south and along the western coast.including the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait. The Saudi-led coalition is collapsing on the battlefield, its mercenaries are fleeing, and its commanders are accusing each other of betrayal.

When you are losing a war, you need a new narrative. And what better narrative than “they attacked Makkah”?
