Born in 965 CE, Ibn al-Haytham, known as Alhazen, is considered by many to be one of the world’s earliest scientists. His pioneering work helped shape the scientific method through observation, experiments and mathematical reasoning.

His groundbreaking studies of light and vision led to his famous work on the camera obscura — a dark room or box with a small opening that projects an image. This principle became an important foundation for modern photography and cameras.

More than 200 scientific works are attributed to Ibn al-Haytham, covering optics, physics, mathematics, astronomy and medicine. His legacy continues to influence science and technology today.
