This afternoon we arrived in Iceland, met our guide and visited the bridge between continents, drove through grindivik, a ghost town that has been fractured by the tectonic activity of the last two years. This evening we watched the northern lights which put on quite the show!
Day 2:
A fantastic day investigating the impact of LSD on Chesil Beach ! Students completed a beach profile and sediment survey. This was all followed up by an incredible sunset at Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove ! @LeesonHouse@HarrisFedGeog
Day 1: Dorset A-level Geography
A fantastic day completing human fieldwork in Boscombe yesterday with our year 12 students. The day was ended with a fantastic sunset !
Day 3: The most impressive waterfall of all, walking through the rift valley and volcanic landforms galore ! Back to the hotel before heading out to dinner . .
Day 2: What a busy day! Two waterfalls, views of Eyjafjallajokull, a glacier and a walk on a very windy black sand beach ! Back to the hotel for a quiz night. Fingers cross for a view of the northern lights
And that’s the record! With Harris Wimbledon now also in Iceland, we have 150 Harris pupils here, the largest number of students on a geography trip in @HarrisFed history!
Thanks so much to Urban Planning who came to HAWI today to run a workshop. Students made model regeneration projects and pitched their ideas to the 4 experts. Congrats to “CCC ltd.” who won overall l! Close call
