Thanks to the hard work of our partners and volunteers this autumn, plenty of excellent river restoration work such as this has taken place on the Avon!
Roach are an often over looked fish, found in most bodies of freshwater I like to think of them at the robin of the river. bold, common and a dash of red to them.

The rain kept pouring down yesterday but we were still hard at work. Here's @treesandtrout helping us install a hinged tree to help scour the bed, creating excellent spawning habitat for salmonids and introducing an array of micro habitats into the river @HAvonCP@WiltsWildlife
Here's a couple of pictures from a river restoration project the team ran three years ago on the Bourne. I think we can safely conclude it's been successful... @WiltsWildlife@HAvonCP@WessexRivers#riverrestoration
Fourth project complete for the month. This time we've introduced a formalised dog access point to the river to repair and reinforce the bank to reduce the high rates of erosion and sedimentation caused by dogs getting into and out of the water @WiltsRivers@HAvonCP
Come along and help us to restore this stream on our Morningside Nature Reserve all next week! We'll be building leaky dams out of local woody material and need all the help we can get @WiltsWildlife

Three river restoration projects complete and we've already installed 195m of woody habitat structures into Wiltshire's rivers. Four more projects to go, any guesses on our total length by the end of the delivery period? @WiltsWildlife@HAvonCP
