🚨 A record number of workers are fleeing Labour’s high-tax Britain.

Socialists would probably cheer. Glad to be rid of those who aren’t committed to their ‘back to the 1970s’ tax-and-spend agenda.

The reality is that it is a tragedy. People no longer feel that Britain is a country that wants them to succeed. Losing them makes us all worse off.

Earlier this month, Chris Rokos - Britain’s third-highest taxpayer - announced he was leaving Britain. He reportedly paid more than £300 million in tax last year. It would take 38,000 average income taxpayers to replace that lost revenue.

That means higher taxes for the rest of us and worse public services.

Labour have clobbered everyone with taxes since they came to power. Rachel Reeves’ two Budgets have raised taxes by £66 billion a year. We can’t take any more, but John Healey refuses to rule out yet more taxes in his Budget next month. He is continuing with exactly the same approach as Rachel Reeves.

We need to make Britain a home for wealth and job creators once again. That’s what I will do as Chancellor.

We will deliver the lower, simpler taxes our country needs, reduce the cost of living for families and keep our public finances under control. That’s the only way we will get our country back on track, and make Britain a home for the ambitious people we want to live, work and contribute.
