HCDVCC is proud to announce that 20 different local agencies are the recipients of the Domestic Violence Assistance Fund- an award from Harris County Commissioners Court through the federal ARPA funds.
With all the benefits of technology, there are also downsides, including using tracking systems on the victim's vehicle/phone, installing spyware on their 💻 computer, or cameras 🎥 in the victim's home.

Some of these factors are: Cultural norms can restrain the survivor from leaving the abusive relationship or involving outsiders. Distrust of law enforcement. Lack of service providers that look like the survivor or share common experiences.
Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another.
Some times a person can't stop to help someone, when this is the case, you can DELAY being a bystander.
Check-in with them later to see if they need something. Offer to get help, sit with them til they are ok being alone, or offer them resources.
