(Leprous men part 2) And the leprous men raised their voices, saying "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" When He saw them, He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And it happened that as they were going, they were cleansed. From Luke 17:13-14 LSB

Our Father, so many things can put a distance between us and You. BUT we can still meet Your Son! Hallelujah! He will bridge the gap! Hallelujah! Amen.

“But which of you, having a slave ploughing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’? But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and, clothing yourself properly, serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink’? Is he grateful to the slave because he did the things which were commanded? In this way, you also, when you do all the things which are commanded of you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’” From Luke 17:7-10 LSB
Our Father, we acknowledge Your sovereign rule over us with joy because You are good. It is our privilege to live by grace and to obey Your commands because we love You. May You find us faithful in all things. For Your glory and in Jesus Name, Amen.

And (after the teaching about forgiving repeat offenders who ask forgiveness) the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith! And the Lord said, If you have faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you. From Luke 17:5-6 LSB
Our Father, grant us living faith that even though it is small, it has the power to uproot our sinful inclinations to be bitter and to hate and the power to grant forgiveness when it is requested. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Read Ecclesiastes 9:1-10:7
(Jesus said to His disciples:) Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him. From Luke 17:3-4 LSB
Our Father, forgive us our lack of spiritual vigilance, our reticence to rebuke one another, and our unwillingness to forgive repeat offenders. Give us strength to be alert against the attacks of the enemy, courage to give and receive rebuke, and abundant grace in forgiving. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Now Jesus said to His disciples: It is inevitable that entrapments (skandalon) come, but woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble. From Luke 17:1-2 LSB
Our Father, deliver us from the entrapments of the enemy that lead to damaging deeds and from setting snares for others. Create in us the desire to live as close to You as possible. In Jesus Name, Amen.

(Jesus about the rich man and Lazarus part 3:) Then the tormented rich man in hades cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us. From Luke 16:24-26 NKJV
Our Father, may those of our loved ones who still have not turned to Your Son for salvation come under deep ministry of the Holy Spirit so that they can realize that there is no second chance after death and that they can repent while they still have time to do so. In Jesus Name, Amen.

(Jesus about the rich man and Lazarus part 2:) Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom, and the rich man also died and was buried. And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. From Luke 16:22-23 LSB
Our Father, o, the terrible tragedy of torment in hell! Part of their agony will be that they can see the blessedness of those who have received Your gift of salvation by grace. We will not see them. Rather, we will see Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and our brothers and sisters. Hallelujah! Thank You! Amen.

From Luke 16:19-21 LSB

(Jesus said:) The Torah and the Prophets were until John; since that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed (evangelidzo), and everyone is forcing his way into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Torah to fail. From Luke 16:16-17 LSB
Our Father, Your Word is eternally true and will never change. Hallelujah! How we long to see the same eager hunger for the Word of God in our countries! May we faithfully evangelize/proclaim the kingdom of God. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Now the Pharisees, who were money-lovers (philargyros), were listening to all these things and were scoffing at Jesus. From Luke 16:14 LSB

Parable of the Steward part 3: He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much, and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth (mammonas), who will entrust the true riches to you? And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth (mammonas). From Luke 16:10-13 LSB
Our Father, may we be found faithful in taking care of that which belongs to others and to ourselves, starting from the little things. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Parable of the Steward part 2: And the steward summoned each one of his master’s debtors, and he began saying to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ And he said, ‘One hundred baths of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘One hundred kors of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ And his master praised the unrighteous steward because he had acted shrewdly, for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light. And I say to you, make friends for yourselves from the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will take you into the eternal dwellings. From Luke 16:5-9 LSB
Our Father, show us those of our past failures and sins that You want us to deal with, and how we can do it all in ways that help others flourish in the future. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Parable of the Steward part 1: Now Jesus was also saying to the disciples, There was a rich man who had a steward, and this steward was reported to him as squandering his possessions. And he called for him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an accounting of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’ And the steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do, since my master is taking the stewardship away from me? I am not strong enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg. I know what I shall do, so that when I am removed from the stewardship people will take me into their homes.’ From Luke 16:1-4 LSB
Our Father, forgive us for neglecting our stewardship responsibilities regarding our calling, our spiritual gifts, our talents, our skills and abilities, our strength, and our health. May we use what You have entrusted to us in such a way that it builds relationships in which others are blessed richly. In Jesus Name, Amen.
