Developing a complete picture of multilingual learners is more than knowing their English language proficiency.

Deeper development uncovers who multilingual learners are as humans and how their other languages and experiences interact with new language acquisition.

Each multilingual learner is uniquely made.

This is an important time to stand up for language education. Teachers of multilingual learners, or English learners, in our nation are important. Every teacher is a language teacher, and every student is a language learner. Language is in every classroom.

Language is an asset. It’s part of our identity. It’s integral. It’s culturally rooted, and it’s ever evolving.

Never forget how important you are as an educator of all students, including those who speak languages other than English, and are learning English as an additional language.

Beautifully said @ValentinaESL! 💕

Language is more than just communication. It’s identity, culture, and connection.

When we embrace multiple languages, we open doors to deeper understanding, richer perspectives, and stronger communities.

But when we focus on just one language, we risk losing the voices, histories, and knowledge embedded in others.

Every language holds the power to shape thinking, build bridges, and preserve heritage.

Let’s celebrate linguistic diversity, ensuring that no language and no voice is left behind.
